Portable Ultrasound Manual

US-1000 Portable Ultrasound Manual

General Information

The main piece of equipment is a high-frequency generator, which provides an electrical current through a coaxial cable to a transducer contained within an applicator. Ultrasound energy is absorbed and transformed into heat energy as it propagates through tissue.

The portable ultrasound is a therapeutic ultrasound device that generates deep heat through piezo-electric crystal sound head. Unlike electrical modalities, ultrasound is unique in that the longitudinal waveform associated with sound is not electromagnetic in nature.

Treatment duration is determined by the medical practitioner and may range from 2-15 minutes depending on the conditions treated and anatomic target site.

Because air is a very poor sound conductor, ultrasound gels must be used to conduct the wave energy to the skin.

The unit of measurement of vibration (frequency) is the Hertz (Hz) which is the number of vibrations per second. The frequency of US-1000 is 1 MHz (1 million vibrations per second).
